[VA] How to Copy Security from One Company to Another

Created by Crystal Ann Harvey, Modified on Fri, 22 Aug at 10:50 AM by Crystal Ann Harvey

Use the VA Copy Company Security form to copy any company-specific security within a single security group or user. This will copy programs/forms, reports, Attachment types, and user-level securities.

This can be useful if you have multiple companies and you have groups or users that require the same security setup in all companies. This form allows you to duplicate the security level for each group or user without having to go to each company individually to set it up.

Steps

EXAMPLE: In this example, we will copy company security within a security group.

NOTE: Security cannot be copied from the "Global" level or from multiple companies at one time. However, this process can copy one company's security settings to the Global level.

Security settings for one company can be copied to another company or to the Global/All Companies setting.

  1. Open the VA Copy Company Security form.
  2. Specify the company from which security will be copied. Next, specify whether you are copying into another company, global settings, and if want to replace existing security.
  3. Then, specify whether you are copying the security for a security group or a user. Click the "Copy Security" button to execute the copy function.

A confirmation message will display confirming the copy. Click "OK" to continue the copy or "Cancel" to abort the process.

When the process is completed, a confirmation message will display.

Now the Security Group or User will have security for both companies.
