You can use Data Security to restrict access to a specific company. This article explains the steps needed to set this up.
You can use Data Security to restrict access to the Companies:
Use VA Security Groups to setup a unique group for the Group Type 0-Data to be used on the bHQCo datatype, named something like, Co. Data Sec-Default. Add the Users needing access to all companies to this group.
NOTE: Add the Users needing access to all companies to this group BEFORE activating data security for bHQCo.
Use VA Security Groups to setup additional Data type groups - one for each Company. Add the Users who have limited access to the Company group(s) as needed.
Use VA Data Security Setup to access Datatype bHQCo and any other module of concern, such as bAPCo, etc.
Check the Apply Security box, enter the default Security Group.
Save and answer Yes to the question to grant the default Security Group access to all companies.
Use VA Data Security Access to grant the other company Security Group(s) access to the appropriate Company.
Go back to VA Data Security Setup for Datatype bHQCo.
The Secure Tables tab has the places where the data could be secured. We recommend using the default settings to start.
When on VA Data Security Setup for Datatype bHQCo, Click the Regenerate View button to access the VA View Generator form.
When on the VA View Generator form, Click the Add Unsynchronized Views button to add the Views to Regenerate and then click Regenerate Views. This Implements the bHQCo Data Security.
TIP: The same security groups may be used to secure any other company modules of concern, such as bAPCo, etc.
Data Security applies to all companies, as does the default Security Group.
