Setting security permissions for form/program access

When a user does not see certain forms/programs, sees them as greyed out in their menu list, or receives a message that they have not been granted access to a form, form security settings should be reviewed for the user.

This KB's example is based on Form Security set up by User.

TIP: Report Security is established in a similar manner. See Related Articles below.

NOTE: Form Security is often set up according to Security Groups, the process is the same in this regard, only the 'Select by:' would differ. Individual security supersedes Group security.

Steps

Enter header data to search for the Company, Modules, and User or Group for which you would like to set security.

Click the 'Refresh Grid' button and check the 'Grouping' box to see a full list of results.

Once the grid populates you can use the wildcard asterisk (*) to search for the form needed. This will search any part of the name for the term you enter.

Once Access had been updated the 'Apply' button will activate. Press this button to save your changes.

CAUTION: The '2-Denied' option shown here is only available for individual permissions, not Group.
