[PR] How to Track FMLA Leave using PR Employee Leave

Created by Crystal Ann Harvey, Modified on Thu, 21 Aug at 4:36 PM by Crystal Ann Harvey

This article explains how to set up a PR Leave Code for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) leave, process it using PR Leave Initialize and PR Leave Entry, then track it using the PR Leave History Detail or HR FMLA Tracking report.

You can use leave codes to track FMLA usage as follows:

  1. Create leave codes for your federal and state leave allotment with unit of measure as hours and no accrual limits (you will not be accruing).

  2. Initialize your employees by payroll group with the leave code. Choose active only unless you want to manage the eligible date for inactive employees as well.

  3. Use PR Leave Entry to enter usage for an employee per unit of measure per event. Use the description field to differentiate events in case of multiple events per employee.

  4. Reports to use: PR Leave History Detail or HR FMLA Tracking Report. The number of employed months and hours worked are based on settings in HR Company Parameters:
