Purpose: Classify the work performed on service calls (e.g., maintenance, repairs, warranty).
Examples: AHService, COMMain, RESMain, ELEC, HVACRepair, PLUMB, AHPlumb, WARR.
Notes:
Set up call types to capture work completed on work orders.
You can create as many call types as needed.
Assign a call type before posting work completed lines.
Call types can be assigned to service centers, divisions, or work orders.
How to Access:
Go to Service Management > Programs > SM Call Types.

- Call Type: Enter a number or code to identify the call type (e.g., HVACRepair, ELECTRICAL, WARRANTY).
- Description: Enter a short description of the call type.
- SM Call Type Category: Enter a category or press F4 to choose from a list.
- Track WIP: Check this box to track WIP account updates when billing work orders.
If unchecked, only Cost and Revenue accounts are updated.
- Active: Check to activate the call type.
Inactive call types can’t be used in lookups or assigned to service centers, divisions, or work orders.
- Prevent Scope Auto Close when Billing: Check to stop scopes from closing automatically when fully billed.
- Matl Tax Override: Select the tax option for materials:
Blank
N – No Tax
S – Sales Tax
U – Use Tax
- Assignment: Call types can now be assigned to service centers, divisions, and work orders.
