[IM] Setting Import Notifications

You can set notifications on templates to alert yourself or others when an automatic data import is complete.

Tip: For example, you might notify payroll staff after importing payroll data from a third-party system.

Steps to Set Up Notifications (IM Template, Notifications Tab)

1. In the Seq field, enter N, New, or +.

2. In the Type drop-down, select E-Email or V-Viewpoint User.

   • If E-Email, enter the recipient’s email address.

   • If V-Viewpoint User, enter the user’s login name or press F4 to select from a list.

     • Note: The system uses the Notify By setting from the VA User Profile for Viewpoint users.

3. Select at least one option:

   • Notify On Success – send notification if import succeeds

   • Notify On Failure – send notification if import fails

   • Attach Log File – include a detailed log with the notification

   • Note: Notifications are only sent for automatic imports, not manual ones.

4. Save your changes.
