[CM] How to Delete Inactive CM Accounts?

Created by Crystal Ann Harvey, Modified on Thu, 28 Aug at 9:07 AM by Crystal Ann Harvey

To delete an account that will no longer be used, you must purge all detail from all statements.

NOTE: However, the CM Statement Purge program will not allow you to purge detail from the last closed statement. You can only purge detail from the statement closed prior to the last closed statement. Therefore, after reconciling and closing the last statement.

If there is any outstanding entries:

1.  Create a CM Statement (to include all outstanding entries)

2.  CM Clear  - clear all outstanding entries (checks, deposits, adjustments).   Note the variance

3.  CM Outstanding Entries  - enter an adjustment to get the variance to zero  (make sure the GL Interface is turned off in CM Company Parameters)

4.  CM Clear - clear the adjustment made in Step #3 - variance should be zero

5.  CM Statement Control - close statement

If there is no outstanding entries:

As noted above the CM Purge program will not allow you to purge detail from the last closed statement.  Need to create a last dummy statement

1.  CM Statement Control - set up a dummy statement with a beginning balance equal to the ending balance, and set the Status to Closed.

2.  CM Purge  - purge through the last real statement (the statement before the dummy statement)

3   CM Statement Control -  delete the dummy statement.

4.  Delete the account in CM Accounts.
