I need to change the unit of measure on a phase/cost type, can I do this?
In JC Original Estimates:
Initially displays the unit of measure assigned to the cost type (in either JC Phase Master or in JC Job Phases). You may override/change this unit of measure as long as:
- the UM exists in HQUM (HQ Units of Measure).
- no change order detail exists in JCOD (Change Order Detail) where the source status equals ‘J’ (Job Cost) or ‘I’ (Interfaced).
- no change order detail exists in PMOL (Change Order Lines) where the source status equals ‘J’ (Job Cost) or ‘I’ (Interfaced).
- the TotalCmtdCost and RemainCmtdCost = 0.00 for every month in JCCP (Cost by Period).
If this criteria is met, the change is allowed and will update JCCD (Cost Detail) as follows:
- If the JCCD UM is not equal to the JCCH UM, sets the estimated units to 0.00.
- Updates projections (PF) records, setting the projected and forecast units to 0.00 where the JCCD UM is not equal to the JCCH UM.
- Updates posted units equal to actual units and the posted UM to the JCCH UM where the posted UM is null and the JCTransType is not ‘PF’ or ‘OE’.
- Updates actual units to 0.00 and the JCCD UM to the JCCH UM for all transactions where the JCCD UM is not equal to the JCCH UM and the JCTransType is not 'PF' or 'OE'.
- Updates the actual units equal to the posted units where the posted UM is equal to the JCCH UM and the JCTransType is not ‘PF’ or ‘OE’.
Pending Change Orders
Contract U/M:
Enter the unit of measure for this change order item. A message will appear if the contract item unit of measure differs from the unit of measure indicated here.
If this occurs, you should create a new contract item to accommodate the new unit of measure and ensure that both units and costs are tracked and updated properly. If you choose to ignore this warning, be aware that only dollars will be updated to the contract item in Job Cost.
Estimate U/M:
Units of measure are created and maintained using HQ Units of Measure . Press F5 in this field to open this form.
Units of measure are associated with each phase and cost type combination on a project using the Cost Types tab PM Project Phases. If you select a unit of measure that does not match one set up using PM Project Phases, a message will display above the grid.
This field only displays when the Estimate box is checked on the Info tab in the upper portion of PM Pending Change Orders and Unit Price is selected in the Pricing Method drop down.
Approved Change Orders
If approving a pending change order item, this field defaults the unit of measure assigned to the selected phase/cost type.
If you entered units in the previous field, and you enter LS (lump sum) as the unit of measure, existing units will be zeroed out.
