How to Change a Viewpoint User Password

This article shows how an administrator can change another users' password. For instructions on changing your own password, see How to Change Your Vista Password

Fist determine if the user is a SQL User account or a Windows user account. Windows accounts will be in the format DOMAIN\User

Change a SQL User's Password

1. Log in to SQL Server Management User with a security admin account
2. Expand Security > Logins
3. Double click on the user whose password you would like to change
4. Change the password in "Password" and "Confirm Password"
5. Click OK
6. Log in to Vista with the new password

Change a Windows User's Password

1. Log in to your Domain Controller as a Domain Administrator
2. Open Active Directory Users and Computers
3. Right click on the user whose password you would like to change and click Reset Password
4. Enter the New Password and Confirm Password
5. Log in to the computer and Vista with the new password
